During the ‘Rare Breed of Love’ book tour, as we crossed the country, it was a joy speaking to people from coast to coast. Some days we’d have an early morning TV or radio interview, hop on the bus and drive to the next town for a lunchtime appearance, and onward for an evening book signing. By the end of the tour I was exhausted but the up side was that public speaking had become second nature to me as a means of reaching people. I’d come a long way from my first interview with Diane Sawyer on ‘Good Morning America,’ to whom I’m grateful for giving me the start. Whether speaking before a high school assembly, at a bookstore or media interview, I was always humbled and grateful that people wanted to listen.
